Design starts with noticing something that could work better, then developing an idea worth testing. IE University’s English-taught Bachelor in Design combines creative practice with technology, research and an understanding of people.

Learning through making
The programme uses studio work and projects to connect ideas with practical outcomes. Its study plan moves from an introduction to design towards more complex briefs, creative technology and communicating a body of work. IE also offers optional diplomas in product, graphic and interior design, with separate pricing.
If you are comparing design degrees, look at what students actually make. Notice the questions their projects address, the materials and methods they use, and how they explain their decisions. Try documenting a small project of your own: early sketches, experiments that failed and the changes that improved the result can all tell a useful story.
Two cities over four years
The current campus sequence is two years in Segovia followed by two in Madrid. Include that move when planning housing, deposits and transport. It is also an opportunity to experience two different settings during your degree.
Tuition and your wider budget
The tuition baseline above is for 2026/27, rather than a fixed price for all four years. The course fees page gives a higher price for the degree with an optional diploma. Add accommodation, living expenses and any personal project materials separately.
Our tuition fees guide can help you compare the full commitment across your shortlist.
