What you will explore
The programme develops research and analytical skills alongside an understanding of global connections. Language study forms part of the first two years: students learn a language other than English or their native language. This adds another way to engage with people, ideas and places beyond familiar surroundings.
Applying
Global Studies is selective. Applicants with an international school diploma generally need one equivalent to Dutch VWO and must meet English requirements. Use the official admissions page to check the assessment process, documents and deadline for your route.
Making the most of your choice
A useful way to approach the curriculum is to choose an issue you care about and ask how you would investigate it. Would you want to understand its economic causes, listen to affected communities, analyse data or compare policy responses?
