Master’s in Chemical Engineering in English at URV

Turning a chemical idea into a workable process brings together design, experimentation and an understanding of how production operates. This English-taught master’s at URV builds on previous chemical engineering study and leaves substantial time for experience beyond the classroom.

From taught study to an industrial project

The programme divides its 90 ECTS between a 60-credit taught first year and 30 credits of internship and thesis work in the following academic year. URV says the placement and thesis are conducted primarily in the chemical industry.

Optional specialisations focus on process safety or environmental management. Consider the kinds of problems you would enjoy investigating: improving a production process, understanding environmental effects or making operations safer. The best choice will depend on your interests and the project opportunities available.

Campus and timetable

Study is based at the School of Chemical Engineering on Sescelades campus in Tarragona. Practical sessions are generally scheduled in the afternoon, but the current course page also allows for compulsory morning activities. Keep that flexibility in mind if you hope to combine study with other commitments.

Who is the course for?

En entry guidance is aimed at chemical engineering graduates and applicants with comparable international qualifications. It asks for a motivation letter and B2 English, with stated exemptions and alternative assessment in exceptional cases.

Explain the projects or subjects that have made you want to go further. Useful experience can come from university work as well as employment.

Budget and applications

The course page announces March 2027 pre-registration for 2027/28. Allow for the full 18-month study pattern when budgeting; our Spain guide covers accommodation and everyday costs.
